Ireland County Codes

When dealing with addresses or locations in Ireland, our API uses the following county codes. These codes are based on the ISO 3166-2:IE standard for Ireland's counties.

Usage Notes

Ireland is divided into 26 counties (contae) and 4 provinces
All codes follow the format 'IE-' followed by one or two letters
The provinces and their counties are:
- Leinster (IE-L): Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Wicklow
- Munster (IE-M): Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford
- Connacht/Connaught (IE-C): Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo
- Ulster (IE-U): Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan (in the Republic)
Dublin (IE-D) is both a county and the capital city
When specifying locations in Ireland in your API requests, please use these exact codes for the county
Both English and Irish (Gaeilge) names are officially recognized
