When dealing with addresses or locations in Portugal, our API uses the following district and autonomous region codes. These codes are based on the ISO 3166-2:PT standard for Portugal's districts and autonomous regions.

Usage Notes

  • Portugal is divided into:
    • 18 districts (distritos) on the mainland
    • 2 autonomous regions (regiões autónomas)
  • All codes follow the format 'PT-' followed by two digits
  • Special regions:
    • Lisboa (PT-11) contains the capital city Lisbon
    • Açores (PT-20) and Madeira (PT-30) are autonomous regions
  • When specifying locations in Portugal in your API requests, please use these exact codes for the district or region
