When dealing with addresses or locations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), our API uses the following emirate codes. These codes are based on the ISO 3166-2:AE standard for UAE's emirates.

Usage Notes

  • The UAE consists of seven emirates, each with its own local government
  • Codes follow the ISO format with 'AE-' prefix followed by two letters
  • Abu Dhabi (AE-AZ) is the capital emirate of the UAE
  • Dubai (AE-DU) is the largest city and main business hub
  • When specifying locations in the UAE in your API requests, please use these exact codes for the emirate

Special Considerations

  • Each emirate may have multiple cities and municipalities
  • Some free zones and special economic areas may have specific addressing requirements
  • For international shipping and documentation, always include both the emirate code and the city name
  • Postal codes are not standardized across all emirates
