When dealing with addresses or locations in the Netherlands, our API uses the following province codes. These codes are based on the ISO 3166-2:NL standard for the Netherlands' provinces.

Usage Notes

The Netherlands is divided into 12 provinces (provincies)
All codes follow the format 'NL-' followed by two letters
Notable regions:
- Noord-Holland (NL-NH) contains Amsterdam
- Zuid-Holland (NL-ZH) contains The Hague (seat of government)
- Utrecht (NL-UT) contains the city of Utrecht
Friesland also has an official Frisian name: Fryslân
