Usage Notes
- The Netherlands is divided into 12 provinces (provincies)
- All codes follow the format 'NL-' followed by two letters
- Notable regions:
- Noord-Holland (NL-NH) contains Amsterdam
- Zuid-Holland (NL-ZH) contains The Hague (seat of government)
- Utrecht (NL-UT) contains the city of Utrecht
- Friesland also has an official Frisian name: Fryslân
- When specifying locations in the Netherlands in your API requests, please use these exact codes for the province
